Sauerkraut and other raw products

Unless thermally treated, raw sauerkraut will ferment in the packaging. The gases generated in this process are reliably evacuated with the WICOVALVE®. Stand-up pouches are ideal for raw sauerkraut and other raw foods. The valve is sealed in the upper zone of the packaging. It is important to minimize the exposure of the valve to liquids. With a special note, consumers should be cautioned not to store the pouch horizontally. In bulk packages, for example sauerkraut buckets, the WICOVALVE® is sealed into the cover film.
